Domiciliary care from a name you can trust
Step-A-Side Care Limited has a longstanding reputation for providing high-quality residential care for young people with autistic spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, physical disabilities or challenging behaviour. Following registration with the Care Quality Commission in 2009, we are now able to deliver the same conscientious care and professional standards in the clients' own homes.
The right experience
We understand that, for many service users, the thought of somebody entering their home can be a daunting experience. So they may find it reassuring to know that ALL our staff members are fully CRB checked and have completed ALL their essential training. What's more, we will only use staff who have a proven track record with Step-A-Side Care and who have the relevant experience and skills necessary for the client's individual needs.
Putting client's needs first
Everybody's needs are different – that's why flexibility was built into our domiciliary care provision from the start. Our services can be tailored to suit a wide variety of individual client needs.
Buddying
Many young people with disabilities require the support of age-appropriate peers to make the most of their local community, access essential services and live their lives to the fullest. Our staff team is made up of experienced carers with a wide range of ages and interests, enabling us to find the right companion for the client in question.
Away from home respite and short breaks
Increased dependency of a family member can often be hard work for the entire household, sometimes causing stress and tension. In these circumstances a bit of breathing space can make a world of difference to everyone involved. Step-A-Side Care can provide respite care for a single day, overnight or longer periods to help out. It's homely range of residential facilities in the Forest of Dean can serve as the perfect rural retreat for clients who would benefit from a bit of time away from home.
At-home respite care
In some instances (for example, young people with autistic spectrum disorders) a change of environment can be stressful and may actually increase anxiety for the whole family. On such occasions, Step-A-Side Care can provide excellent and dependable respite care in the client's home, allowing family carers a chance for a break – whether it's a weekend (or longer) away or simply a day out to recharge.
Home help
Many people with physical disabilities or learning disabilities find they need a degree of assistance to help them continue living independently. Whether it's aid with personal care, certain domestic tasks or accessing the local community and services, we can help. Our staff team is sensitive to the fine balance of care provision while maintaining independence for the individual and are committed to delivering the right level of care based on the client's individual requirements.
Supported living
For individuals who require (subject to an appropriate needs assessment) more continual access to support, Step-A-Side Care can offer supported living tenancies. This service is ideal for those who would benefit from having a fully-qualified staff member on premises, 24-hours a day to help with living skills, becoming part of the local community and accessing services as part of an ongoing programme striving towards ever increasing independence.
