Telecare
Our Telecare service uses technology to help older and vulnerable people to live more independently and increase the range of activities that they can do.
Range of equipment
We have a range of equipment to help you live in your own home including falls detectors, bogus caller alarms, epilepsy monitors, carbon monoxide sensors and flood detectors.
We can programme electronic sensors to a special alarm unit that informs us of a problem. For example:
- we can detect when someone falls and provide automatic lights to prevent accidents from happening
- we can detect a fire in the home
- we can detect a flood
- we can detect when someone with dementia goes out at night
How the service works
The service involves the provision of a telephone link between your home and the monitoring centre.
All that is required is a telephone line and electrical power point within close proximity of each other.
Should a sensor be activated, a message is sent to the Alarm Monitoring Centre where trained operators take the most appropriate action, whether it be:
- Sending around one of our care workers to provide support.
- Sending around a maintainance proffesional to provide assistance.
- Contacting a family member, neighbour or doctor.
- Contacting the emergency services.
- This service is currently only available in Gloucestershire.
The equipment, assessment and installation is provided 'at cost' price, but there is a monthly monitoring cost.
